Yep, watching those who mum and dad rather cruelly told them they can sing, discover that in essence they can't, is more than half the fun surely.

We do all realise that these 'contestants' who are so diabolically terrible that everyone wonders how they rhought they might get though are actors paid to act the fool don't we? Its not real.

There are so many examples of TV lying to the masses its too numerous to list. Fake phone-ins are only the tip of a huge iceburg that most people choose not to see.

I think people with no ability know that they have no chance. But they figure hey, something to do and get on TV, why not right? There is always a chance in hell that maybe someone will see some potential as well. But Mainly I think its to get on TV, 15 minutes of fame?

In this case, i am really not convinced!

There are some VERY stupid people around. I think that there are some who go up there and play act, but i am not 'yet' convinced they are being paid for the show.

While I don't think the worst are stooges, I'm sure that the producers sent people out to working mens clubs, karaoke(sp) bars and the like to find the worst, and then give them an assured audition.

But when it comes to the bad, stupid ones, just remember the Cheeky Girls. They were ruddy awful, didn't even get through the first stage- but they've lived for 8 or so years off of those 5 minutes of heroically bad TV.

Absolutley,watch the pub karaoke rejects,ignore the rest until the final,when there maybe some talent ie Leona Lewis (not my kind of music but can sing)
