Prompted by a post on the house price thread..... about professional women who are fedup with their career and want to give up work and have kids.

I was thinking.....generally most office jobs are crap, people spend most of their time in the office surfing the web, having meetings about nothing, or just staring blankly at a screen.

Women with a certain level of education face huge pressure to get one of these non-jobs.....they sit there for a decade or so wasting their most fertile years before finally realising that infact office work is ste, and having children/raising a family is about the most positive and productive thing a woman can do.
And what's more supporting a woman doing that is about the most productive thing a man can do.

So we have a situation where the most intelligent, and genetically fit women are in effect sterilised by the push for a 'career' ( how come no one just has a job these days ) and the only ones breeding are those too poorly educated to work in an office....creating a sort of reverse eugenics.

Millions of intelligent women sitting out there bored to death in a dead end office job when they could be raising the next generation properly, and the only people breeding enough to multiply in numbers are the welfare underclass.

To me the whole thing seems to be insanity. Maybe the BBC will explain it all too me like a good little child of the state.

he porbably does but you might be surprised by the large number of people who agree- like most of the male population and quite a large portion of the female population too!

Welcome to Labour's Britain.

Just when Thatcher got their previous core vote to do things like buy their home and work their way up in the world (and hence never vote Labour again). Labour hatched a cunning plan to get their core vote to spawn as many kids (and future Labour voters) as possible.

Of course, if you work in said office job (probably earning a fair wedge) it's a massive financial penalty to sire kiddies unless....

...you are on the dole/welfare...

I feel sorry for women, they are told they can have it all, job, marriage, great hubby (who can breathe through his ears, has a 15'' cock complete with £5m in the bank and looks like George Clooney) and have kids as well.

Needless to say, life is full of disappointments.

But hey, they're worth it!

Why dont you stop being a thick generalising tt !?

Women (and men) are individuals and much more than just women (or men).

You cant generalise without at the same time making the generality equally vague.

Many women I know absolutely do not want anything to do with kids at all. Career is everything. Those that I know who juggle both do so at times with great difficulty and not without stress. Money helps, lots of money to have an au pair, cleaner, gardener and the like so that there is time to actually enjoy life. I don't recall recently meeting a stay at home mother who actually just wants to do that; atay at home and bring up the kids. Also there seems to the belief amongst many that being mum is not enough and in some way shows a lack of ambition or drive in life. Somehow it's a second choice.

'Have it all' society. Just exactly what have we got though?

Sometimes I wonder.

I wonder how many of these women are 32 and under. I wonder how many of those women will suddenly change their mind in their early or mid-thirties and panic about having kids.

This is a generalisation but I'm often impressed by how hard women work, they are often more dedicated than their male counterparts and feel they have to live up to higher standards.

...but...

It seems that men get ahead by taking more risks (often they are simply not as afraid of being wrong it seems), if they see an innefficiency in a system they feel compelled to cut corners and it seems men are more easily driven by rivalry.

Think you will find their is a queue. I also offer training sessions to all women. I will "train" groups too. biglaugh

I think there are quite a lot of career women who regret not having children, there are those who couldn't care as well. Generally those who want kids, have kids.

Personally I see them as an expensive pet that you can't have put down.

Exactly. I am in my job for that reason. My job (although not a dead end one) has provided me with the money have the thing's I want for now. Would I change it to have a child.......

Bloody right I would. Can I change it to have a child....

No... unfortunatley not right now. And everyday my parents age and suffer with bad health without seeing a grandchild kills me more and more. frown

Not since they invented the CSA no.

But without enough well bought up kids there won't be any taxpayers for when we retire. Which might prove to be a bit of a problem.
