Darn, beaten to it

I would be very careful in regard to buying a flat right at the moment.

It's not a 'new build', is it?

Check on http://www.zoopla.co.uk/ to see what the house prices are doing in the area. May also we worth checking out some of the local property auction sites to see whats happening at the repo end of the market.

running on a flat costs more in fuel and may also result in damage to the tyre which can also damage the wheel and even the bodywork. Suggest you invest in a compressor, it'll be cheaper in the long run.

It's not all bad, if its in the right area.

Can't be worse than my (now sold) shoebox-block 1973 flat in PR1 (horrible postcode).

Would imagine it varies a lot depending on the area I know the rental alone on my cousins flat is 600 pounds a week and it is only 2 bedrooms however it is in St Catharines Dock so would be expected. Would say on a typical 2 bed flat looking around 350 pounds a month in other costs apart from rent if in a decent area and with sky+, broadband etc...

Don't. Depreciation will be 1K/month+, so why not wait until they bottom out, 12-18 months from now?

You are cold, you smell, live on bread and water and have dial-up.

Oh, and ICMFP.
