mmm. Have to say I've almost gone through my own foot with an axe, though (somewhat) luckily it went through my boot and grazed down the side of my little toe.

Not sure if that's better or worse actually...

What the hell was the axe-wielder thinking of to do something as moronic as that - defies explanation!

Welcome to limping the rest of your life because when you were younger one of your 'mates' didn't wait for you to get out of the way before swinging an axe.

Personally I don't find this funny, the chav kicking the fence at least did it to himself, this is st for the guy concerned.

About 13 years ago, when we were 15 / 16 years old, a mate of mine shot himself in the foot quite literally.

Stood on a slippery embankment when out shooting rabbits. Raised the shotgun to take a shot and slipped over backwards. As he landed and his right foot went up in the air he managed to pull the trigger and lost 2.5 toes.

He was on his own when it happend about 1.5 miles accross fields from his parents small holding. He said it didn't hurt until he got back. I guess that would be the shock.

Much piss taking ensued for many years.

No longer in touch with him now though...

Now the EU will make up some new health and safety law to make people wear hard hats when drunkenly jumping on trees that their mates are chopping down with axes.

As scouts on campwe were all trained to use axes and saws etc to cut up fire wood. No problem. Untll one decided to climb up a tree and use a hand axe to knock some dead branches off. (not exactly the best plan to start wih)

On his way down he needed two hands to climb with so decided to lodge the axe in the tree next to his foot while he climbed. Unfortunately he missed the tree and hit his boot. No damage to the foot. So pulls it out swaps hands and tries to put it in the tree next to the other foot... same result.

Some people and Axes should not mix.

Well the EU seem to think that hard hats solve all known problems - we now have railway track workers wearing them. I've been on 6 years and haven't heard of one case of a train falling on someone's head.
