Recently bought a house and moved in a few weeks ago, all good. I've just come around to unpacking my TV and installing it and find that the signal is crap. I look on the roof and theres the issue, no ariel. I've just flicked back through the fixtures and fittings list from the solictor and the sellers stated where was an ariel (though there is an ariel socket in the living room!)

So my question is, where do I stand legally with this as I'm not prepared to fork out £120-150 for an ariel installation.

I had the same thing a year ago.

Thieving scum.

Not good news though, as it cost me £200 in additional solicitors fees to sort out.

Although it hurts, i would bite the bullet, get the ariel fitted, and then spend the next month getting taxis to their new address and cutting out each and every coupon that is freepost to ensure they have junk mail galore for the rest of time.

It could be in the attic instead. Also, are you sure that it has not been moved since you moved it - prehaps it fell off?

Always use Persil myself, prefer the smell. wink

Have you checked in the loft? Could easily be there, less prone to weather damage and some places don't let you put aerials onto the roof. Even if not, is a couple of hundred quid really worth the arse-ache of chase the previous owners? The solicitors aren't going to be interested and I suspect you would have to get the courts involved to see any return.

Almost as bad when the leave the aerial but forget to leave its PSU.

Added: Perhaps the aerial fell down years ago and they could only get a signal via a dish (which they took).

They left a Sky dish too, which is also listed on the F&F.
