Outdoorsy holidays - 3 days, next week

Me and a mate are looking to go on a lads holiday next week. 3 days, 2 nights.

We were looking at this: http://www.blackmountain.co.uk/water/hire.htm but they want 160quid for the 3 days, inclulding pickup at the other end of the river.

Any other suggestions? Within a few hours drive of Liverpool if possible.

We were thinking of just an inflatable boat, and piling our tent in there....?
