At the beginning of October last year I had someone hit me up the back-end in the car. Liability was accepted by the driver and his insurance company and the usual routes were taken i.e. Repairs, Loan cars and in my case Physio for aggravation of an existing back injury.

Anyway, nearly one year on my insurers are still awaiting pay out from the 3rd party insurance company. It is in the hands of solicitors who are forever chasing Z***** for both my money (out of pocket expenses) and my insurers money (repair bill etc.). To really liven things up I have to renew my insurance at the beginning of September and yep, you`ve guessed it because this case is still not settled I am being held responsible (which I understand) and subsequently will be out of pocket because of the inflated premium. Granted, I will receive a "refund" when it is all settled.

Has anyone any suggestions on how to bring this to a close based on previous experience? I chase the solicitor but still nothing despite his best efforts.

To be honest, their probably arguing over the personal injury you sustained during the claim.
Especially as it was a pre-existing condition, some insurer can be right tts at times.

A friend of mine is waiting for a payout on an accident he was involved in over two years ago, despite accepting their first offer about 12 months back!

Last time I got hit by a 3rd party I didn't even bother calling my insurance company as they just make things more complicated and most of them are impossible to talk to, I called someone on here (europa consultants) who gave me a car, I dropped my car off at the dealer and collected it a couple of weeks later, I didn't hear anything from anyone until it was repaired as they dealt with everything.
