In and around City centre - any suggestions??

Short taxi ride preferable, dont want to be ages in a taxi.

Maybe somewhere with a few nice bars around also?

Not city centre, but a pakistani colleague of mine took us to Manchester's "curry mile" for a meal when we were working at an event in Salford Quays. It was probably ten minutes drive from Salford Quays.

It was unquestionably the best curry I have ever eaten, bar none - all genuine Halal meat in there - my colleague had a chat with the head waiter, and one of the chefs - very friendly, as were the other customers - and the service was superb. Only downside for me was that it did not serve alcohol - but that was a small price to pay.

I'll drop him an email to see if he can name the restaurant and give it's address.
