Worst August Ever?
Discussion
Nope, deffo NOT the worst ever August.
Its sunny here and its not been that bad. From what I understand last year (obviously) was much worse and technically parts of the country have seen much worse. Memories are a wonderful thing - of course it never snows like it did when you were a kid? Guess again - remember the M11?
I wonder how people coped before access to records was the norm?

It's been a lovely afternoon here (Derbyshire). Just been for a run in the Riley, had coffee and cake at David Mellor's place (Q: what did he design than many of us see every day when we're driving?)
Nope, definitely not a bad August day here - the rest of the month was a bit iffy on occasions though I couldn't say it was the "worst ever" 'cos I wasn't around for much of "ever".

Been a mixture of cloudy/sunny here in London.
We've had a MUCH better summer than last year, where we had about 4 weeks over April/May, and then f
k all the rest of the year apart from a short spell in Sept.
This years its been consistently warm/hot from April right through to now, with some regular (bit not overly dismal) patches of showers and hard rain, lasting a couple of days at most.

Its been nice here with a coolish breeze today, went to cut the grass today, but there is a patch where there mowers wheels kept spinning as it was still saturated... Ive abandonded that bit now so its all cut bar a a small area that is piss wet through....
August for me has been, wet, windy extrememly changable similar to November really.... It rained on my birthday for the first time in years...

It's clouding over and getting ready to rain again.
The weather forecast looks gloomy for the weekend.
I always thought August was the reliable month for heat and sunshine.
Is this the crappest August ever?

Statistically August is the wettest month of the year in the UK.
