Flat screen TV advice.

[Craphouserat]

The time has come to bin the big bulky one and upgrade to one of these flat screen ones. I know nothing about tv's, only upgrading because the sound is fecked. What should you be looking for/asking the salesman about in the electrical shops? I will make sure it's HD ready, but thats about all I know ! They all look pretty much the same to me.
Argos always seem to be advertising decent deals on LG flat screens, anyone know if they are any good?
An advice appreciated.

Cheers.
