I'm in two minds over something.

Someone who i only know online has recently died in a car crash.
The reason he crashed the car was because he was trying to evade the police in a town centre, where he hit 2 parked cars.
Now it wasn't a crap car and there's no obvious motive as to why he did it, but in the crash where he died, he's also seriously injured his girlfriend.

So i don't know whether to mourn him or hate dislike him for his blatant disregard for other peoples safety.

Thats a tough one. I think part of you should mourn him for all the good things you remember about him but at the same time dislike his actions which resulted in his death.

(Did that make sense?)

I dont think you really plan to mourn someone or not - you just go with the feeling which is the greatest. Not much help I know - neither is wrong, although 'hate' when you dont know the reasons is a bit strong

We all do bloody stupid things at times, I know I have and who's to judge me that hasn't done something stupid themselves. A mate of mine died in a car accident a couple of years back through pushing himself to far, IMO. He had warnings and didn't heed them. Yes he was foolish and paid the ultimate price but I still liked him loads and mourned his passing.
Maybe just call him a bloody fool and get on with the mourning wink

Is his girlfriend hot?

Is it worth making a move on her when she recovers from her injuries?

The feelings as to mourn for your 'mate' or not should be a natural reaction.

Go with the flow.

I'd dislike myself for having such poor taste in online friends.

But did he injure someone else in the process?

If you only know him online, I'd not give it a second thought either way to be honest, just feel sorry for his girlfriend.

I think I know who we're talking about (but only via online stuff, too). I thought it was his brother's girlfriend that was in the car?

If that is the one I'm thinking of (Blue VX) then he wasn't avoiding the Police it turned out....they had just pulled out behind him.

A bit of a daft knee jerk reaction when you don't know the full facts.

I am basing my opinion on what you said Cliff.

He killed himself and also injured someone else a few weeks previously.

Sorry, but the likelihood of him being merely unlucky is slim.

Whoami,
Fortunately the person that was injured wasn't too serious and the accident was being addressed. What is not clear, and this is only speculation, is wether my freind was pushing himself or had something wrong with his vision or the accidents were just that, accidents. I guess we'll never know so can't really judge from behind a computer, and I know I said 'IMO' but that's all it really is, I could be wrong. Things aren't always that clear with accidents and all we can really go on is how that person really was as a person. It sounds much like the guys in both cases would have not wanted to hurt anyone as a consequence of their actions but just may have got things wrong leading up. That's all I really want to say on the matter as I don't want to hijack this thread wink

Whoa boy.

You're asking us (some 'internet mates') to tell you how you should feel about the death of another internet mate?

Forgive my bluntness, but you need to get a life. I know it is hard to believe, but there is a real world out there.

So I am told.
