Is there a product available that's like blu tack or plastercene that I can mould with my fingers, has good adhesion to plastic & rubber & dries hard. It has to remain in place & cannot be dried / baked in an oven. The piece needed would only have to be about the size of a grape before moulding.

Thanks

Chris

Mate of mine swears by car body filler. Most of his house is held up by it!

Made from oil based clay, non hardening. Used when a mould will be used to make the finished article in bronze or hydrocal

Modelling store, ask for oil based clay. "Kleen Clay" is the name of the product I use. Very inexpensive.

I also use it for waterproofing out door electrical connections smile

ETA It dries "sorta" hard, well hard enough to use for mould making.

yes Chris, there is.
I have some, and i'm looking at it now. I have used it a couple of times, but not sure if it sticks to plastic and rubber, but otherwise and it does just what you want biggrin.

It's a bit like a sausage roll, a cylinder shape (sausage) of white stuff, with a layer of blue stuff on the outside. You cut off what you want, and roll it together until the blue mixes with the white. You then have about 10 minutes to do with it what you will until it sets rock hard.

The bugger of it is, there is no label and i can't remember the name. If you give me a shout you can pop over and have some to try it out.

It's made by Unibond; its called Repair Express Power Putty and you should be able to get some in any DIY shop - I think Halfrauds do it too. Good stuff.

Like the others say, Milliput!

It is a clay epoxy. You slice a bit off from each strip and knead it together. Starts setting in 15 mins or so, like stone in 48 hrs if you have mixed it correctly. Comes in fine/coarse type etc.

Having looked at their website, the stuff i have isn't Milliput, but it looks similar.

I'm doing this fun little activity in the morning, http://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?h=0&a... - if you fancy a hoon, ending up having breakfast near Yately at 10 ish. I won't have my phone on whilst driving.

Otherwise, i'll be at home in the afternoon, or could just leave it in the porch for you.
Send me a text and let me know what you want to do, Cheers, David
