Central London (West End?) bar for Birthday drinks/party?
Discussion
As PH is the font of all knowledge here's a challenge for you all. I'm trying to organise a bit of a Birthday do in London but need to find a venue which meets the following requirements....
Ability to reserve some space/tables on a Friday night (about 30 people's worth)
Doesn't play music at a volume that makes it impossible to have a conversation, although some decent music would still be good
Is located somewhere fairly central
Prices aren't massively important but the ability to get a beer for under £5 would be a bonus, if it's a cocktaily place that's not a problem. I went to a place called 'Vanilla' on Gt Portland St a couple of weeks back which would have been pretty much perfect except my best mate just had his Birthday do there so I'd rather find somewhere else if possible.
West End, Islington (Angel), Chelsea or anywhere inbetween is fine for location really, I haven't lived in London for 3 or 4 years so I don't really know where is good and where is full of foreign students!
So, over to you lot!

Reserving for 30 people on a friday night will be a problem at most places....can you not do it any other day during the week?
Nope, it has to be a Friday unfortunately. I know finding somewhere to reserve an area will be the hardest part of the challenge, that's where I'm struggling really.Vee said:
Loads of places will give you a 'VIP' area - you just have to guarantee that a certain amount will be spent at the bar during the course of the night. Anything below this amount you have to make up yourself.
Doesn;t matter what day of the week it is.
yep, true dat Doesn;t matter what day of the week it is.

try guanabara off drury lane, bloody fantastic place, proper cocktails, VIP for up to 40 people roped off, two barmen dedicated to your party and live brazilian bands.. oh, and cheap drinks = £5.30 cocktails, £4.20 bottle of brazilian beer (not brahma
)highly recommended
