In my day, this stuff was sold in glass bottles, with yellow cellophane wrapping and little bobbles on the neck of the bottle. It was something your Mum bought you when you were "a bit poorly". "Lucozade aids recovery", so they said.
These days, it's been the beneficiary of possibly one of the most successful re-brands ever known. No longer a get well drink for poorly kids, it now, apparently, gives you "a physical edge" and has gone all isotonic and sporty.
And I still love it.

I remember the cellophone wrapping...is today's stuff the same recipe as we used to have? These days, it's been the beneficiary of possibly one of the most successful re-brands ever known. I remember the Cellophane too.
There used to be a mahoosive sign attached to a building by the side of the A4 flyover into London. Everyone who travelled in from the West would see it. It said ' Lucozade,Aids Recovery' The little bubbles would light up as the drink filled the glass.
It was removed during the early '80s. The rumour was that because of the arrival of the Aids epidemic and the accompanying hysteria of the time the sign was not appropriate for foreigners to see as they came in from Heathrow.

I stick with the Lucozade Energy "Original" which, if memory serves (and by crikey it's been a while) tastes just like the old stuff.

I've never touched the isotonic stuff, nor the apple or orange flavoured variants, or for that matter the new-fangled "Alert" concoction.

Yup - lucozade original served absolutely bI stick with the Lucozade Energy "Original" which, if memory serves (and by crikey it's been a while) tastes just like the old stuff.
k-freezingly cold!
Nothing better when you're really thirsty. I've been told you can still buy the original glass bottle with orange cellophane wrapping stuff from chemists, but I haven't seen any.

Nothing to do with the redevelopment of the building then
By the way the iconic sign is still in storage.
BOT - there is a subtle reformulation/taste from our childhood.

Actually the Lucozade Sport is better than the normal one for hangovers as its designed to directly counter dehydration, although I doubt they really had olympic grade piss-ups in mind as "sport"
I tried to get spilled Lucozade out of a cream wool mix carpet last week...I'm sure red wine would have come out easier.

I don't think they had olympic grade E and whiz consumption in mind either, but I don't think they're exactly sorry about it...
