Even so, one has to hope the OP is taking a tent. Have you seen what hurricanes can do?

Tony - Which Island are you going too ?

It's only going to be a weak Cat2 at around 100Mph....So everything will be up and running v v quickly.

Isn't it hurricane season out there? And holidays are priced accordingly?

Hmm, seems it is:

Yep - June - Nov is Hurricane season..although "June's too soon" as it takes a while for the sea to heat up to over 80F (which is enough to 'feed' a hurricane)

Well, it's only a bargain for a reason eh! I guess it's a roll of the dice at this time of the year.

Tony - Don't panic

Been there and caught the last one of the season, it rained - a lot in batches, and was windy in batches. We just took shelter in the swimming pool and then went back onto the sun loungers biggrin Or took a trip to the other side of the island to avoid it biggrin

You've seen Jurassic Park? yes Well the rain scenes (where the guy was trying to steal the eggs)) were filmed there - they will take you too the location on a guided trip if you are bored hehe - they didn't need to add SFX laugh

Just got back. Dodged three Hurricanes. Had lovely weather - 38c and little rain.

Feel sorry for those affected so badly, Haiti, Dom Rep and Cuba.
