Tell me I'm not losing my senses, but can you honestly believe they let this animal out on bail????????
I hope the 'strict conditions' involve him being permanently nailed to a large plank of wood. rage

A 14-year-old youth has been bailed on "strict conditions" after appearing in court charged with two counts of rape.

The charges related to an assault on two young boys in Woodfield Park, Welland, Peterborough, at about 1830 BST on Saturday 16 August.

Police said one alleged victim was aged six, the other was eight.

The teenager, who was not named for legal reasons, appeared at the Youth Court in Peterborough and the hearing was adjourned for four weeks.

Surely for someone as sick as him and as meek as a 14yr old, a jail sentence is akin to a death sentence?

Or do I watch too much tv?

In the circumstances, I'd have expected the kid to be kept in custody for his own protection.

Nothing in the article suggests that the alleged crime was a violent act.

Who knows what went on? Oh, the courts - that's who. Certainly not the BBC, and certainly not the OP.

Does assault not indicate violence, be it physical or sexual?

Are you suggesting that we don't know yet if the 6 year old boy consented, so it is in fact a statutory rape case?

Isn't it a little bit premature to be branding him an amimal? The article doesn't give any detail of evidence that links him to the offences and nothing has actually been proven in court yet.

How do you know the 14 year old boy wasn't the victim of years of sexual abuse, engaging in a 'game' with some lads in his neighbourhood who are similarly disturbed?

Calling him an 'animal' without knowing a single fact of the case is fantastically stupid and below even the Daily Mail.

Oh, my mistake, it was probably consensual sex then. Tsk tsk, how silly of me to get so riled up, when all along the six year old was most likely quite happy with what went down.

So he's guilty is he? Then what's the point of bringing him back in for trial? Should we just go straight to sentencing?

To be honest the 6 year old probably tried to rob the boy with a flick knife first.

Welland estate is somewhere I wouldn't even dream of going, nasty place.

Whatever happened it's just another sickening article to read.

Alleged. As in not uet prooven guilty.

Bail is given to those that are not considered a threat of either re-offending or absconding.

As he's 14 and under 'strict controls' I would guess this satisfies bail conditions.

Hanging's too good for him, should be shot, sent to prison without trial, etc. etc.

Whatever happened to innocent until proven guilty? It's a 14 year old kid, FFS.

I know what'll make this better: knee jerk reactions from overprotective parents who know none of the details but spend their time bleating 'will no-one think of the children'.

It's not necessarily the case that violence was used. Threats, persuasion, trickery, bribery, who knows? Either way, seems an odd decision not to keep him in custody. Presumably they don't think he poses a danger of re-offending or absconding. I wonder whether he's - I'm trying to think of the politically correct term, but "learning difficulties" covers such a wide range of conditions as to be meaningless - retarded?
