City of God. Great film.

City of God, fantastic Brazilian film on Film 4 tonight at 11.25, well worth a look if you haven't seen it before. Set in the slums of Rio, it traces the lives of a group of young gang members from the 60's to the 1980's.

Subtitled, but don't let that put you off.

Yes it is fantastic, I've only seen it once (last year) but bits of it still stay with me. One of the best movies ever, regardless of the language barrier.

I would love to see it again, but I only have terrestrial TV in my bedroom.

I'm not sure if Cidade Dos Homones is a sequel to it. In fact I'm pretty sure it's not.

Broaden your horizons Simpo, watch the opening chicken chasing scene and you will be hooked.

It is brilliant.

City of Men is related to the original film, but I don't think it is what you would call a sequel.

I started watching it, but couldn't get passed the subtitles, I really cannot stand them!!! Tis' a shame!

i'll vouch for this one. wasn't so keen on the subtitles but film is well worth a watch.

I have it on DVD, its brilliant. It's #18 on the IMDB all time top movies list and if anything the language/subtitles add to the film.

With a film like this (and others; Das Boot springs to mind) I am so taken in by the brilliance of the film that I don't even notice the subtitles.
