Following on from my previous thread regarding the most disgusting dirty people living in a shared house the following ideas have been suggested to make things uncomfortable in the house so they move out asap. ( their tennancy is up in 5 dayys but they are vile enough to say they wont leave..they have no respect for other people or other peopls things), I know that sounds harsh but from what I have heard about these people is that they refuse to open windows. They dont ever hoover and dust or clean the kitchen leaving pots and pans dirty for days. They actually deserve a good kicking but anyway....

1. Playing very loud crappy music in the morning and evenings with plenty of base. Not an issue keeping them awake seeing as they keep the rest of the house up till 2/3am by shouting every 5 minutes.

2. Putting a clear liquid in a glass and then attach a note saying do not touch. Dont explain to them whats in said liquid. Place numerous glasses with such a liquid with a note around the house.
In actual fact said liquid is vinegar as it is supposed to absorb bad smells so hopefully it will piss them off and maybe make them wonder why these liquids are based around the house....

3. Someone suggested keep taking out different lightbulbs everday but only a couple at a time and then replace the next day but keep alternating around the house.

Any other ways to freak them out and annoy them.....

Caustic soda instead of the vinegar?

Hopefully they'll be curious about it.

This is hilarious, so much effort has gone into plots and schemes and hatching of ideas to get them out, yet you/the Landlord have not even told them flat out to leave...

Seriously, give it a go.

No, what you need to do is paint their lightbulbs black. When they switch them on, it will actually go darker.

A more effective solution to getting rid of people with lightbulb modification: Fill the lightbulb with petrol yes

...and stand well clear!

Well in that case you'd certainly be justified in kicking them out.

My friend lived in a house from hell. He moved out. But not before........

There was a row of wall cupboards in the kitchen where they all had individual space. Before he moved out he poured the contents of a massive bottle of cooking oil all over the top. Let it drip down into their stuff, cornflakes etc etc.

He even smeared the grease over thigns like camera lenses. and TV remotes. Pots pans door handles, in drawers, on CDs, the phone etc.

Then he went on his merry way.

He heard some months later that they were too pissed and stoned to make sense of it. They all blamed each other and rowed big style. When the idiots twigged it was him he was long gone.

He was careful - apart from the food - not to destroy anything.

He was about 20 at the time and now a very respectable gent in the sort of job where that sort of behaviour would never be tolerated. Still no long term harm done.

I would obviously not reccomend this as a course of action. I only repeat the story.

sounds like the shared house I have the misfortune to live in at the moment. Dirty soiled plates obscuring every work surface in the kitchen for over two weeks. Ugh

So you really want to get them out without much fuss?

Here is what I'd do, write a letter to your tenants informing them of a routine property inspecton by an engineer. Get a mate to come round for maybe an hours worth of work. Give him a clipboard, hard hat, measuring tape, calculator, name badge (anything else you can think of that a civil engineer might have doing an inspection, in fact if you have a friend who really is an engineer even better!). He walks around the house tutting, looking in corners, peers around water system and climbs into the loft etc. then leaves.

You give a note to the tenants telling them that after inspection the house had serious structural/wiring/water flaws and will need extensive renovation (waving said "report" in your hand) for a couple of months so unfortunatly they'll need to find somewhere else to live. Just hype up the danger element so they are encouraged to leave even faster, e.g. "I'm really worried about the wiring actually, engineer was telling me the guy must have been a total cowboy and that it was bound to catch fire at some point in the future. I wouldn't want to live here myself so I'm eager to get this done quickly so no one gets injured or dies as the house burns to the ground".

I think that should work, you look like a concearned landlord and get to have your house vacated quickly.

I had the total opposite problem at uni. Due to some mates dropping out of uni i ended up in a flat of 3 with 2 guys i didnt know. They didnt know each other but were both nobheads in their own right. Wosre was the Cypriot bloke who made no effort when i first met him and totally ignored me, then he keeps me awake until 5am every single night either with his stty music/having mates round or using some sort of electric drill for an art project which was stupidly loud. As revenge i just left the flat in an absolute tip, crap and dirty plates everywhere, not nice at all. Only reason i did it was a)i dont really care about mess and b) my mates flat was next door so i just spent 99% of my waking time in their halls hanging out there only returning to sleep and sometimes cook. Chap i lived with was not a happy bunny, constantly leaving me agressive notes but i ignored him. It needant have been that way, i love meeting new people and in a way relished havinga flat with new people but Christ almightly after instigating a handshake and offering him beer at firt he wanted nothing to do with me so screw that what a rude wr. Cest le vie.
