Hawaii - Big Island?

Has anyone stayed at on the Big Island Hawaii?

I am going there in a couple of weeks and welcome any 'must do', nice places to stay etc.

I have been trawling though trip advisor and most places are well rated, but they are American reviews.

Going to the Volcano park is on the list to visit and we need to fit in diving and snorkelling somewhere.

are you only doing big island? how long for?

Apparantly its stunning views and trails, but not much in the way of entertainment, or even decent restaraunts...

i went there in april, but due to time we only had 2 nights on the big island, highly recommend a chopper tour over the volcanos, and we drove around the island one day, very long day once you start stopping at places, the 2 places that stuck out is the volcano park, and captian cooks monument, to get to there you have to paddle over in a kayak but accross that bay you can get to see dolphins in natural habitat

Yes it's the Big Island only (for 9 days).

Not fussed about good food or nightlife, as daytime adventures are more important.
