I'm heading down to Worthing on Saturday for a liason with a young lady friend of mine. I plan on staying over. wink

Anyhoo, I was thinking that instead of blatting straight back home to London on Sunday morning(ish) I'd first check with you guys to see if there's something going on on Sunday in the general area that's worth checking out?

Thanks in advance.

Tangmere museum is 5 minutes along the road and well worth a quiet Sunday morning wander around.

Military Aviation.

I've driven past it a hundred times and never knew it was there. Will have to stop and have a look now.

Fake WWII aircraft wink

A wander round Arundel castle and lunch at the Black Rabbit is usually well received smile

Sorry - flying things.

It's got a Lightning on the inside, a Phantom and Sea Vixen on the outside, and all sorts of stuff.

It's not Duxford, but it's small, friendly and generally very quiet.

The Shoreham airshow is on Sunday, just a five minutes drive east along the A27.

Sorry, does not compute. Worthing and young?

On a serious note, it's Shoreham RAFA air show this weekend.

Or, if flying stuff isn't your bag, then the DTM is at Brands this weekend - which is sort of near Worthing.

Good point about the airshow - don't go back to London via the A27/A23/M23 - it'll be solid around Shoreham (immediately East of Worthing)

Shoreham Airshow sounds just the thing.

Thanks guys.

I know the Black Rabbit well from times past when I was a callow youth. Them were the days.

Thats a good shout. Arundel Castle is definately worth a trip inside if you've never done it, I was most impressed.

Parham House ? http://www.parhaminsussex.co.uk/

WOuld it be better to leave my car in Worthing and take a train to Shoreham for the Airshow? Or will the whole area be jam packed?

Might be an idea.

Or you could leave your Hawk with me for the day, and I'll drop you down there

I'm not taking the Hawk. One of her valves had an arguement with the rest of the engine. She won't be fixed until next week.

I'm gutted.

If you are taking the car in your profile I wouldn't leave that anywhere near Worthing !! wink

It'll be busy but I'm sure they have fields of parking there, don't think the train station is anywhere near the airfield though scratchchin
