You found out your Dad had called the company who had turned you down for a job, remonstrating that you were such a good boy they should really have given you the job, and threatening to go to the media, his MP etc? He had already called the CEO's office and HR.
I had a Daddy call me today because his 20 year old son failed to get through to the interview stage and was papersifted out. Thrust of his argumnet seemed to be that he had an A level and had been to a public school and was therefore just the kind of employee we needed.
The son knew he was calling: had signed a DP release so Dad could be told why he failed.
I suggested to him that perhaps one reason his son had not been selected was that his Dad was doing the ringing up, and we wanted someone who would take responsibility for sorting out their own problems as we presumed he wouldn't be bringing his Dad to work to sort them for him.

You aren't working for a law firm by any chance? (Probably not as you said CEO, now I come to think about it). Amazing. I cannot belive that a parent would do that, mine offeredno help to me in terms of job searching and I wouldnt want their help anyway..
What field of work was it?
Can't say.. walls have eyes and this one isn't dead yet. He has spent 2 full days trying to bully everyone into going back on the decision including forcing me to spend 4 hours writing a report to justify the decision to HR, who he has spent 2 hours on the phone to. He has even rung up other companies and got details of what they do to attack us.What field of work was it?

This all seems very strange unless the parent has strong connections to the firm.
Although I am amazed, some people pour every spare moment into their childs life, and when on paper they have everything needed for a job, they get turned down, the parent goes off on one..Gassing Station | The Pie & Piston Archive | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
