Puupies tend to start out small; choose anything! Great Dane or Staffordshire bull terrier perhaps? biggrin

On a sensible note - smaller dogs tend to be LOUDER.

Don't visit so often, you'll just end up with dog hair all over your clothes.

On a more helpful note give us some clues, will it be left alone for long periods, is there children/other pets in the house, do they have a garden?

definately look into a Yorkie, not a teacup yorkie though.

My mom just got one and it is so small. insanely cute at the expense of me sounding gay. hyper, but it is a pup, very quite however which is unusual for small dogs.

He definately has LDS - Little Dog Syndrome. He is not scared of my pitbull or my cats and loves to venture off into small nooks and crannies in the house.

As has already been mentioned - what sort of lifestyle are they offering? For instance, collies need huge amounts of exercise and mental stimulation, otherwise you end up with a bored and destructive dog. Greyhounds need very little exercise (2 x 20 monutes a day). How experienced are they with dogs? Do they need a dog that is easily biddable? How long would the dog be left for each day? Do they have children? What sort of fencing does the garden have? Are there any other pets in the home?

A puppy needs a lot of work with house training, general training, socialising with people and other dogs. Puppy training classes would be very sensible.

Where have they considered getting a dog from? Have they considered rescue? Plenty of dogs in all shapes, sizes, colours, breeds and ages to chose from. Yes, I am biased as I am a volunteer foster carer for a rescue .smile.

Plenty of nice dogs looking for homes in the forums here: http://www.dogpages.org.uk/forums/ Not all have issues - many have come from a home where the family circumstances have changed or the owner has died.

And/Or large, mean, biker type people.

As above really, what sort of thing do they want? Just a small dog? How much exercise can they give it? How small is small? I mean, a German shepherd is fairly tiny compared to my Newfie.

Just bought this little fellow. 9 week old British Bulldog.
I'm picking him up after work in a few hours time.
I can't wait. He's called Moss.
He's my first dog.
