Hi Guys

I got engaged in Stockholm on holiday last week and I am very excited!

I was wondering if anyone had any recommendations as to good wedding websites I could look at - the wedding will likely be in Scotland.

Any advice and tips are welcome!

Cheers

We got married at Gretna Green, cheap and cheerful, it was a great day, evening and night.

Stay away from all of them - they are inhabited by women nuttier than squirrel poo.

I read one post from a woman wanting to cancel her entire wedding because people hadn't ordered the specific jacket she wanted them all to wear and they were going to ruin her day. (these were the guests, not directly related to the wedding party - she wanted them all matching) yikes

hitched - full of nutters... and even worse there is a split in the forums... one group of users hate the other side and vice versa.. because of their differening attitudes
my groovy wedding - not quite so bad, but still a few bridezillers
money saving expert has a wedding forum - actually quite sane (and most of them are trying to get the most for their money, rather than spluging everything on tat they 'simply must have or the day will be a disater')

ban all wedding magazines - full of 'you must have these items from our featured advertisers, or your day will be ruined'

Agreed - the magazines are such a waste of cash. And doing a budget special of how to get a dress for under £1000 is insane.

I can't understand how people need to get other people to tell them what they need to do to make the best wedding ever.

I can see a few key factors in the wedding

Clothes
Venue, with someone there who can officiate the ceremony (priest, councilly person, etc)
Guests (these are kinda optional, but you do need at least 1)
Alcohol
Food (secondary to alcohol)
Rings

What else could be needed?

WE're suing confetti.com. Useful tips, and the magazines are good for ideas. Weve been planning for about 6 months, getting married next August.

Oh, and congratulations!

exactly, Lady S' dress was a £120, made to measure & made in the UK item. Which she has been able to wear again at other Black Tie events (benefit of choosing a non white dress)

why pay 1000's for an uncomfortable, made in china thing
