Having finally bitten the bullet and admitted that my silken locks are well in retreat... I Mach 3'd my head today, and it looks far better than it did before.

So, I'm after some tips from my fellow Patrick Stewart impersonators, to keep my bonce shining in glory. (Amusingly, I've got a tanned spot where my previous hair-hole was the island in a sea of follicles...) Skincare products? Shave it daily, weekly, or whatever? Wearing hats in public areas?

Not sure what your vocation is, but I found I was constantly knocking my scone on things, getting cuts and damage all the time I was working on and under my car. The thin layer (#2 trim) of hair I have gives surprisingly good protection to the scalp.

And it is annoying when you have two days stubble, and your whole head feels like your chin usually does.

Saw an old bloke on a beach in the Philippines with what appeared to be a short back and sides tattooed on his head. Either tattooed or painted on.

yikes

He also had a bunch of tropical ulcers all over his legs, so I guess he was a bit of a general fruitcake.

Any chance of there being any sun, and break out the sun cream, as high a factor as you can get.

I got 3rd degreeburns to my head watching the BTCC Oulten Park earlier this year.

Invest in a hat for those occations when there may be sun.

It's a hard subject to broach, but how attractive is your skull?

Most people, women too, get to hide it with hair. But it's like any body part, some people have attractive ones, and others don't.

Patrick Stuart's cranium is beautifully formed. Others, such as Sinead O'Conner, are exquisite. If the bone structure is there, you'll still look gorgeous bald.

If you are very attractive, you will still be with hair loss. If you are averagely attractive, you will still be with hair loss, unless you do some ridiculous denial comb over thing.

Kinda see what you mean, but the only female I (used to) like with a bald head was Skin of Skunk Anansie

Headshape is largely irrelevant if you have any significant receding or baldspots - it needs to be shaved off and will ALWAYS look better than if it is left to grow, regardless of how ugly your head is.

Just live with it, loss of hair won't make you uglier, just emphasise that fact if you are!

I've been a slap head since my early twenties and it's never help me back...

Perhaps you should grow a really big beard?
