Just conducted an 'appraisal' with the maid. It didn't go well. In fact she went straight to the loo in her quarters, squeezed out a turd and left it on the side of the bowl before storming out - that's how well it went.

All this maid stuff is new to me as a fairly recent expat, so I am looking for any help I can glean from the wisdom of PH. So what questions should I be asking?

Crucially, how can I ensure they actually do some work as I suspect that all the last one did was pleasure herself in her bedroom while we were out.

Any advice gratefully received.

Surely if you took the time to install CCTV she would have paid for her own services by now...?

Do you st IN the bowl?

Do you prefer to masturbate profusely rather than actually do some sodding work?

I understand that in Hong Kong maids are paid 'headache money'. That is, for services rendered when the wife has a headache.

Sadly I am not in HK.

Oh no, just heard that the wife has already employed one, with no input from me! Colombian!

So, rather than interview techniques it would be 'induction training'. Please modify suggestions accordingly. Please note however that as I didn't employ her, she might be a munter.

You should make your wife do the chores. And if she says no get a new wife. If however your wife is the money maker ignore previous advice

She's guaranteed to be mingin as your wife would've put this high on her employability list just below hugely fat & smelly.

And quite right too. The domestic arrangements are for the lady of the house to organize.

Dunno about in Latin America but here the usual applies

  • use a reputable agency
  • seek referances
  • dont get the pretty young things (unless you plan on banging the maid)
  • make sure that you have a clear set of tasks that she is expected to do
  • emphasise (to her and the agency) that she is on a 1 month trial, after than you will approve her visa / send her back)
  • make sure that you ar eable to comunicate in basics.
  • dont bother with "reviews", if she is the type to drop a 3 coiler infront of the bog, fire her anyway.
remember, if its the same as here, she is depepndant on you for her Visa.

(we don't actually have a maid, but lots of our frieds with kids etc do. They all without fail have problems with maids, even the locals and 20 + years expats)
