This is probably the one kind of thread I didn't ever see myself making but I'm just confused...

I've just been dumped by my girlfriend of two and a half years who has said there's a number of reasons but mainly...

- I love her too much apparently, she'd rather be with someone who didn't love her as much and she has to chase
- She wants to be with someone who's not as nice
- She wants someone who doesn't treat her as well and generally tells her to fk off

Is that the way all girls think? Does it classify as a snakes with tits scenario?

Absolutely SWT scenario.

She's trying to be nice, but she's decided to move on. Sorry.

I've pretty much accepted it now but I don't think that was what she was doing, it wasn't an off the cuff remark.

yes Looks like that to me too. Somehow it might have be easier on you, if she had cheated or something, then you could at least 'hate' her. But this way, you are just left confused frown

No, most woman would love a man, who was nice to them. But some do prefer the 'bad boy' image.....crazy if you ask me

Sounds like a childish nightmare of a woman. Better off without her by the sounds of it.

But if you do want her back just completely ignore her. Never fails. Women want what they can't have. Unfortunately, this approach will land you with a string of crazy stalker bhes that you'd be better off without.

Women don't like doormats any more than men do. We enjoy the chase and a bit of a challenge, rather than a lapdog at our beck and call all the time.

Why do you think it's always the bds that get the women, and it's always the nice guys complaining about it.

Toughen up, say no if you don't want to do something, tell her if she's being a berk, be independent and have separate interests so you don't spend all your time together and you have something to talk about, which makes you more interesting = attractive.

Sounds like she thought the grass was greener elsewhere. They do that occasionally.
When they do it its because they are mature and emotionally deep individuals, whose intellectual and emotional needs cannot be met by mere mortal men.
When we do it is because we are bds.

Don't let it get to you. Go out and get a new one.

She sounds brutally, totally honest.

This really is exactly what works between boyfriend/girlfirend in the early phase of a relationship. The principle of absence, and making the partner chase/covet the other, is very powerful.

Nice guys finish last.

Do not let SWTs convince you otherwise. The number of women who want to be treated softly and considerately from the outset is in the minority, even thought they all think they do.

She graduated in 2006 at the same time as me. I did the LPC straight away, she's working and now doing it part time. Thinking more along the lines of the paras wink

We had pretty much separate interests so it wasn't as if we liked the same things. I wouldn't say I was a doormat at all, she never really gave me much to get pissed off about, except now.

My mrs has a so what attitude to anything I do, thats until I start going out and saying I will be back at 7 and come back at 9. This drives her completely nuts and if I put enough effort in to ignoring her it's all hairdo and makup for the next week and my son is packed off to the in laws.

However the "you love me too much" is in the same vein as "it's me not you" which is when you usually find out later means I'm banging someone else.

Of course, this is only my experience, but the only time I ever finished a relationship and told a guy it was because he was "too nice" was because the guy was a total doormat who didn't want an identity outside of being a couple.

I've always liked nice guys, married one happily, there's no way I'd have wanted to be treated mean but this particular guy was the male equivalent of the creepy hanger on female friend who starts to dress like you, likes everything you like and basically tries to take over your identity.

Well, OK he didn't dress like me (that wouldn't have mattered - not averse to a bit of dressing up) but he'd been a mate before and became a mate again after (eventually), so I knew the guy had a personality, opinions etc. They totally vanished when we became an item, he wouldn't venture an opinion on anything, anything I liked then so did he, he became very meek. It was cloying, stifling and to be blunt a bit frightening. I liked him when he had spunk, his own taste, a sense of humour...

I'm not saying that this is you, but there's nice and then there's too nice - almost coming round and meeting nasty on the other side ...

As soon as she knows you've found someone else and that you are ignoring her totally she will come crawling back ..

Trouble is you then have to continually treat her like sh*t and very soon you'll lose all respect for her and won't want her and when you do she won;t want you.

Been there. Got the T-Shirt.

(PS: when the new one comes along - shag her within an inch of her life ASAP and then feign indifference. Otherwise you're back in the Friend Zone.)

No one at work knows about it. The PAs in the vicinity really aren't anything to write home about Getting involved with anyone from work I guess is another thread entirely. Trouble is at the minute I'm working big hours and all my spare time is taken up with football, seeing my mates and trackdays so there's not a lot of opportunities to find someone else.
