Off out to Orlando on the 16th this month to meet the missus as shes working out there... Im taking a little wedge out with me to hopefully have a good time!

Ive been out a couple of times before and stayed on I-Drive & Downtown (Lake Eola) - Much preferred downtown for obvious reasons! Ive had a few meals in places such as Seasons52 and little bars like Dexters? but Im looking for some nice nice foody places to go scoff. Ive heard of Ruths Chris? for steaks and things but there must be other nice posh places

So PH Masseeve, Posh Foody places in Orlando please!

Go to the Pointe Orlando http://www.pointeorlando.com/diningOption.html at the south end of I-Drive, next to the convention centre, it's just been revamped (nothing like it used to be, more high end now) and there's some nice places down there like capital grille and a nice wine bar too.

Never went to any posh nosh joints when I was out there on the honeymoon years back. Normally just nipped down the pizza joints or something basic.

Worst place by far was what was billed as the "largest" McDonalds somewhere at the south end of International Drive. It was a total hole, and not even that big.

I'm getting hungry .... just remembered the chicken caesar salads at Wolfgang Pucks mmmmmmmmmm

Try Normans at the Ritz Carlton Grande Lakes - was there in the spring for a meeting, the Grill downstairs was pretty good too...

The only remotely "Foodie" place in all of Orlando and outlying areas i sprobably the "Victoria and Albert" restaurant at the grand floridian hotel. Other than that then it's Steak Houses and the like.

Orlando is not exactly a gastronomic oasis - but there are some nice places - some away from the tourists.

Del Frisco's - Lee Road
Carieras Cucina - Dr Phillips
Timpano Chop House - Dr Phillips
Flying Fish - Disney Boardwalk
Melting Pot (fondue) - Dr Phillips
Roy's (next to Seasons 52)
Memories of India - Turkey Lake Rd

Ruth's Chris is good - but not as good as Del Frisco's in my opinion.

V&A is ridiculously over-priced, but good quality. Slightly up it's own arse (as with most Disney fine dining establishments) - except the Flying Fish, whic has a much more relaxed atmosphere and very good table service.

Don't know if it qualifies as POSH but is much better than a burger

The Cheesecake Factory at The Mall at Millenia (more than just cheesecake on the menu) they even have valet parking.....

http://www.mallatmillenia.com/experience/experienc...

If you like cheesecake it is even better.... the Mall has upmarket stores Apple, Sony, GUCCI, Chanel...... Also has Brio Tuscan Grille, P.F. Chang's China Bistro if you fancy something different. There is also a food court for when the money runs out......

Kissimmee Steak House - quite nice, don't do 'fries'! - In America? Must be posh.

There's a nice restaurant at the Marriot World Centre, name escapes me.

The melting pot fondu restaurant is excellent. There is another posh fish restaurant near this which was also very good.

I wouldn't necessarily call Texas De Brazil posh but it is very good. As some of the previous posters have said aim for the less tourist biased restaurants (the concierge or bartender at your hotel should be able to help).

There are some good steakhouses Charley's and Ruth's Chris are well known but I also quite like The Captal Grille (also on I-Drive).
