Right, married with three young children (12 and twins of 10).

Thinking of emigrating, but would want somewhere where the kids would have a good life, decent education and lifestyle.

Equally, having business still in the UK, would need a relatively easy access to get back to the North West, say once or twice a month.

Would like a decent house and somewhere near water, where I could have a boat and semi-retire.

Would try to learn another language but it would help if English was spoken, even as a second language.

If you were me, where would you go?

I thought Canada was a lot more PC than the US.

Maybe they don't mind what you say in Canada, as long as you remember to say it in French as well.

But bl00dy hard to emigrate to unless you're in a trade they particularly want. They have good immigration websites, both national and state by state (there are national immigration schemes and separate ones sponsored by each administrative state)

Menorca. Great Med island climate, pretty "Cornish style" coastline. Quite a reasonable sized UK migrant scene out there. Property prices not as extortionate as mainland Spain. 2 hour flight to Blighty, language - well they are used to British tourists.... just wave arms about and shout a lot.

Can we make this a sticky to save this weekly discussion?

Or rather a statement at the top to say 'Lookin to emigrate? Go to Canada or Australia.'
