after holding a house party i have been left with a whole load of drink

nice stocked fridge full of beer
few nice bottles of wine
large bottle of Jack Daniels
unopened bottle of Passoa(SP)
and a crate of various J2o's

do i take these left overs as payment for me hosting or am i expected to hand these back at some point?

just before i tuck in...!

Usually keep them, if you know the people well enough they'd have probably asked for it back if they wanted it or said at the start. With our frineds the agreement is uaually we provide the food and some of the drinks they provide the rest, if any left over we keep it, though I usually check with them to give them a chance to take it if they want.

Can't have been much of a party if there was drink left over!!! smile

We (well when me and the ex were still together) used to keep the beer if there was just the odd can/bottle, wine was considered a gift, and spirits offered back, but often left behind.

All our friends understood this, and the same rules apply when visiting them.

Quite often though, there was very little left over anyway!

standard rule of party hosting- you get whatever has been left over

ugly birds can however be exchanged if they are still there the next morning

I had a friend who once brought "their" bottle of Vodka, didn't share it (but DID take a few drinks that other people had brought) then went home with about a 2/3rds full bottle of vodka.......

For some strange reason, I've never invited them back.

Phuk me, seriously?

That's a hanging offence in this part of the world!
