Had/have a list of stuff I thought I'd shift through ebay. Haven't got round to listing any of it, but what I did do is create a 'shop'. Gave it a name and saved it for future reference.
After two or three weeks, I get an invoice from ebay, for £8.58.

But I haven't listed anything.

You can just sell it without having your own shop. In fact I'd be a be suspicious of buying from a seller with a shop but feedback of less than say 200.

I used to have an eBay shop as I sell things regularly on there (in a small business way, not household stuff). A year or so ago, they stopped listing shop items in with the other stuff in searches so hugely reducing shop sales for me. Now I have to list them all are buy-it-now as one-offs.

Not that this is relevant to the thread, but it has reminded me how much it pissed me off when they did that, and I had to let it run a few months while I paid and got nothing back to see what was happening, in case it was just luck.

Yeah I find that pretty bizarre (as a buyer) and only just noticed when I was looking for a laptop keyboard. Ironically enough I ended up getting one cheaper new from an ebay shop then the ones ripped out of an old machine that were being listed above.

I always assumed that the 2nd/3rd set of listings was for international and not-quite-matching items.

From what I've heard, Ebay seem to have a real knack of pissing off their core users.

The fee to have an Ebay shop rises to £16pm in a week or so.....

Hence why I'm closing mine this week.
