Plumbing question - Topaz taps any good?
Discussion
(Not sure anything can be off topic in the P&P but there you go ...)
Anyway I need some new taps in our bathroom - the current taps/sink are a three hole arrangement: hot tap, cold tap, centre spout.
There don't seem to be many options in this configuration (that we like), one is from Topaz at about £100 or so and the other is from Aston Matthews at about £400. We used Aton Matthews when we redid the bathroom in our last house so I know they are good, however, this is really only a stopgap as we'll probbably completely redo this bathroom in a few years.
So what I want to know is are Topaz taps any good? Or at least OK?

In the trade it's known as a three tap hole mixer (3th). Don't know if you mean sink or basin so I googled for basin:

Ah, cheers.http://www.google.co.uk/products?q=3th%20basin%20m...
As its a straight replaacement for the existing tap it needs to (more or less) fit into the existing style. The tall spout style and the squared off ones won;t really fit in.
TO give you an idea here is the Topaz one: http://www.smrbathrooms.co.uk/acatalog/Hudson-Reed...
(Ref: U-BC307 about 3 down)
As for basin v sink I wasn't aware there was a difference ... ?

The Topaz ones you're on about; they're actually Hudson Reed (being the brand). All 3th mixers are a standard size and should fit into any basin or sink (still don't know which one you mean).

Well its a bathroom does that make it a basin? Or is there some qualitative difference as distinct from where it happens to be placed?
Anyway thats by the way - regarding the taps I just want to know if they are any good (or at least OK) quality wise?
cheers
