I've just gone completely fking mental in the office after someone in our management screwed up and harmed a relationship with one of our suppliers.

The whole complex heard it and I threw a chair through a wall. I've never reacted like that before and I'm seriously embarrassed. I've calmed down now and don't really know where it came from.

My knuckles are bleeding because I think I punched the wall at one point as well.

I've apologised to our neighbours who looked pretty pissed off (I would be as well). I dunno wether to let everyone forget about it or make a point of apologising for the bad language and noise.

Thankfully, none of my staff were in the office at the time.

Y-y-y-you're scaring me.

Two Q's:

a. What kind of chair?

b. What kind of wall?

It's not clear whether you're above or below the manager who made the mistake.

Stud partition wall, heavy swivel chair type thing. Not as great a feat as it sounds, just really horrendously embarrassed.

I've just found I broke the phone, a calculator bit the dust and the kettle emptied itself into the air vents at the top of the microwave...

Apoligise at the next team/office meeting and you will win lots of respect - next drink up down the pub and the moment will be re-lived again with a few laughs and all will be forgotten. (until the Xmas party)

I'm sure it's not out of the blue, your staff are probably used to your violent outbursts. As for fellow director, he's probably considering putting a hit out on you, but this evening he'll realise you only reacted that way because you're passionate about the business you both own. It'll be fine.

FWIW, it's better not to bottle these things up, but on the other hand, I know from similar experience that the temporary loss of rational though and control is worrying. You need to think about potential triggers to this, which is the usual stuff; idiots, shysters etc. etc. and conciously try to have a mental "count to ten" process in stressful situations.

I was fortunate in having figured this out way before starting work; my sister used to be pretty adept at winding me up to snapping point - usually comming home late and making tons of racket in the kitchen (below my bedroom) when I had to be up early next morning. Often. Culminated in me yelling at her, to the point where she shut herself into her room and I tried punching the door through. Oh to have lived in a modern house, rather than a very well constructed pre-war property with hardwood doors. You can still see where I broke the bones in the back of my hand. I also dislocated two knuckles.

Stay cool!

Solid brick wall, flimsy Ikea chair type thing. I am super-fantastically strong and probably caused atoms to split.

Then my trousers burst into flames.
Edited to avoid further disappointment.

No just the right to operate in our district... a fairly major point! Ah man, my hand hurts like a bastid! I'll not do that again...

Actually, can someone give sickman a nudge? I wouldn't mind knowing what triggered it!
