Conservatory repairs??
Discussion
Do any companies fix conservatories?
During recent high winds we had roof panels move and they need relocating and securing better.
Our insurance company refused said it's not covered.
So...
We have called around numerous Conservatory companies but they are not interested in repairing or replacing a roof (glass) and will only build a whole new one.
Conservatory is 6 years old and UPVC.
Any ideas?

How long ago did you move in to the house? Who built it? They often come with a ten year guarantee.
We moved in 4 yrs ago.The previous owners told us a pack of lies about the extension, conservatory and kitchen appliances all having warranties on them as part of their negotiation for the full asking price but post completion we discovered that they had no warranties because they had not paid for most of it.
They also caused approx £9k worth of work by stripping the house of fittings (negotiated in the full asking price) but they moved to the US so pursuing them was not an option as civil UK laws have no jurisdiction in the US.
Hence, we now need to get a conservatory specialist in to make good the roof.
I have had opinions from colleagues saying that we should just knock it down one weekend and no doubt people reading this may think the same but it's not really an option b/c it's more of an integral room than a glass room added to a house.
It has plastered walls where they used to be external brick (3x walls) a full width fireplace at one end, central heating, internal spec doors to kitchen, dining room and family room and an oak floor. You'd also have to go outside to access the family room if the conservatory wasn't there.
And it would devalue the house considerably to remove it; with that clarified, does anyone know of a reputable national company who undertakes this type of work.
It seems awfully wasteful (not to mention expensive) to rip the whole lot down and start over for the sake of replacing one or two glass panels with ones slightly larger which fit properly and securing with proper fixings.
Conservatory glazing fits into a channel which forms part of the structure and there are special clips to hold the glazing in.
To get glass cut could be an option but I'm not sure who could do that as the glass is double glazed and vacuum sealed. Can a regular glazer do this, I am assuming it is a specialist job but I could be wrong.

Double glazing company's typically have various departments, if they are a bit more than a one man band anyway. There will be a 'glazing' dept, which sells glass for greenhouses and the like, mirrors, misc' glass items, and will also be responsible for replacement 'blown' sealed double glazed units, emergency board ups, fixing stuff etc. Replacing or repairing your roof panels should come under the remit of the 'glazing' dept, so ask for them.
If you get put through to the 'sales' department, the folks who sell windows/doors/conservatory's etc, then yes, the guys will probably not be interested, they might quote you to replace the roof, but it will be the entire roof structure, no bitting & bobbing. Or, more than likely, they will quote to replace the whole conservatory. Quite often this will not be because they are trying it on, more than likely, the roofing system they use will not be compatible with the frames.
If your enquiry has not been properly qualified by reception, it may be that 'glazing' could sort you out no problem, but 'sales' don't want to know.
Try a larger local company, and avoid the Nationals, as they won't be interested in repairs or a new roof, but will try to sell you a whole new conservatoy.
