Why do chickens lay eggs?
Discussion
You know those battery hens?
They’re all locked up in cages, right.
Presumably, no he-hens are boning them.
So why do they lay eggs?
Do they do it just for kicks?
What evolutionary reason could there be for chickens to produce eggs that aren’t going to hatch into chicks?
Also, I buy free range eggs sometimes, but I won’t eat the ones with little red dots in.
It is my understanding that those little-red-dot eggs have been fertilised. Basically, those eggs contain chicken spunks.
Say what you like about me, but I’m no chicken-spunk-swallower.
But who the devil is boning these chickens?
I mean to say – if they produce eggs without getting boned (like battery hens) then presumably the free-range-hen-farmer has no need for a he-hen to be patrolling around, doing “random shags”.
So if there is no need, then who the hell is shagging these chickens.
They don’t fly very well do they? It can’t be rogue man-chickens, flying over the fence, running round boning all the lady-hens, then flying off home.
Can any farmers explain?

Blood spots in an egg are just torn blood vessels from where the egg detaches itself during production
Jesus is that true?I thought they were spunks.
Can anyone else confirm that they are not actual spunks?

The blood streaks are almost always caused by a cockerel getting carried away and snapping his banjo mid coitus.
