After watching the Mercury music prize award thing last night I bought this today, and at lunchtime I've just had to order it on 12" and his first album...

It's blinking awesome!

Got it playing at the moment... suspect it's the wrong time of day (sounds like a night track) but it's not doing an awful lot for me, yet.

Yeah, that is the one.

The album is called Untrue also, and is well worth a listen, or more like 2, second time around it all sounds better, and after the 5th time of listening to the album today it keeps getting better...

Odd, but genius!

If your into dubstep, try the Dubstep Allstars compilations.

Don't let the opinion of old men who read Q put you off.

Yea i have got this album, and the other one, i think it's just called 'Burial'
A track called 'Homeless' and 'Arch Angel' are my favourites.

Dubstep is awesome, try Youtubing 'Benga' he has a song called 'Pleasure' which i really like.

Is it playing at the right speed (or is that just me - the Peel generation of "oh, dear I appear to have that on at 33rpm!")

I bought this album after a lot of recommendations and I have to say, Its one of the dullest thing's I've ever heard.

Now I love my "electronica" and am all up for any variation of it, but this was so paired down and minimal that it all just ended up sounding the same. There was one track I liked but after 3 plays even that just became boring. Literally every arrangment and every beat on every track is identical. Any "vocals" are just a pitch variation of the same chipmunk (on helium/valium depending on the tune) drone and although I can potentially see the appeal in the right context (i.e absolutely off your tits), dubstep wont be a genre I will be dipping into again.

I'm not sure if it's my headphones, but it doesn't sound right, a bit like the drums are being played backwards, it doesn't do it for me I'm afraid.

John Peel - Right time, right place, wrong speed - The man was a legend!

Any DJ Shadow fans out there listened to it yet? I heard the Burial album descibed as the record Shadow should have made after Entroducing......?

Anyway, it's on my list.

Yeah I'm into DJ Shadow too, I can perhaps see some similarities, but totally different genres...

Benga and Platicman/Plastician are good too, however I've not been to a dubstep night... What are they like?

I guess you either love it or hate it... The first Burial track I heard was off "worlds heaviest dubstep" cd, or something like that... I like the dark and mysteriousness within the track, kinda takes you on a journey!

Good shout on the Flying Lotus, reminds me of Nightmares On Wax. Have you heard of them?

Ah, have some Nightmares on Wax on vinyl, Burial & DJ Shadow (Private Press)....never heard of Flying Lotus though. Funnily enough I started getting into this 'genre' via Radiohead/Aphix Twin (sp?).
