Black suit, black shirt and black tie.
I wore that to a wedding a few weeks ago and got loads of nice comments.
And only two "funeral" "jokes".

Are ou going to a function where lounge suit is required?

If not, I wouldn't wear a black suit - not quite right for a business environment.

Add a pair of Dealer boots and you'll look like a pikey at a court appearance smile

If you must wear a black suit, wear a white shirt and a grey tie.

Fair point paperbag

And I know that many an IT worker considers a white shirt with a few pens and perhaps a small screwdriver stuffed in the breast pocket to be fabulous business attire, but I personally don't like white shirts

I prefer red stripey shirts with Dollar sign braces obviously ..... wink
