A 'special' report was aired this morning on my local news channel. They stated that there were people in run-down parts of Lincoln who were struggling to pay their fuel and food bills etc. Ok, fair enough, but its better than that.

They cut to the reporter who is handling the report. She introduces the men as Wayne, Dean and Darren (or something like that) who are all, you guessed it, unemployed!

They are moaning about the fact that they have 5 kids between them and they are lucky to get £100 a week. They all looked like chav thugs to me with the usual Burberry caps on and stupid expressions. They said they need more help and its not fair.

The best bit came next, they stated that they all know people who have had to resort to crime to pay their bills, as they don't get enough money off the state etc.

WTF!!!!

You absolute lazy wrs. How about getting a fking job like everyone else has to!

I couldn't believe it. Why on earth did these shower of st lazy thuggish bds even make the news?

What worries me is the fact that they just expect more money for nothing!

This comes on the back of the minister for spelling yesterday saying that we should introduce text speak spelling into work to make it 'easier' for people who are struggling!

What the hell is this country coming to??

Well, in times of old you just went out and got another job. These days there are those who are fit and healthy but who have no interest nor intention of getting another job, because the state pays them more than they could earn.

How dare you! These are the deserving poor, the people who the Govt Communities Minister Hazel Blears cloud9 she is going to target when she says she wants to "tackle poverty". What's wrong with giving money to the poor anyway?

Ohhh Hazel, how I love you, when will you be mine... sperm

I see the little scum bags when I walk to work. I claimed benefit once 4 years ago, i found the whole experience a pain in the backside, it was actually less hassle to go to work. Isn't it much more satisfying to spend you "own" hard earned money? Or am I living in a dream world where no one cares any longer?!?!?!

confused

If they don't get a job after "X" amount of time they should have to be on the street. That will learn them

Thats a bit unfair. Just becasue they wear Burberry caps, live in council estates, claim £50K per year in benefits for their litter of sprogs, steal and cause vandalism, does not make them Chavs!

We need to help these poor useful fkers. Darwin cannot be allowed to have his way with these precious ones.

It's amazing how they all can afford 20 ciggies a day, the latest mobile phone/trainers etc.
Dispose of the lot of 'em? I'd have to say Yes.

These people are victims of society you know! It's not their fault, it's ours. We are all equal, but since they don't have the brains or ambition to achieve anything, they deserve to have it given to them for free. And we pay for it.

Why don't they claim incapacity benefit instead? There was a huge trend in the old industrial cities (Newcastle, Sheffield, Liverpool etc) where the number of unemployed dropped and the number on incapacity rised. (report by Christina Beatty and Steve Fothergill - Centre for Regional Economic and Social Research at Sheffield Hallam University questioning why former former high unemployment areas have seen higher numbers on incapacity)

Just did a study on economics and the figures I found were that 2.7million claim disability benefit in the UK but are not classed as unemployed wink good idea by Labour to fiddle the figures eh?

Don't see why these people in the news report should get money for producing further spongers, but the UK seems to reward failure rather than trying to make a life for yourself frown

Reduces spending on silly things, like going out and maxing ten store cards on designer clobber. Helps to focus the mind on the essentials.

It also causes the working community to become more intollerant and forces Governments to pay more attention to the revenue creators than they need to during a boom period.

London is full of single foreigners who come over here, live in crappy shared accomodation to work their arses off to take money home to their families. It's an absolute disgrace that these wretches aren't doing the same.

yes recessions are a bit like the economic equivalent of a forest fire.....not pleasant, but in the long term beneficial even if it doesn't seem like it at the time. And just as the US Foerstry service found out, the longer you prevent them from happening the bigger they become when they inevitably do happen.

Perhaps a Forester would have made a better Fed Chairman than Greenspan....

I have said it on a previous thread, there are probably 20million (may be a an exageration) in this country who serve no purpose, they sponge, commit crime, breed further no hopers. Round them up, shoot the whole fking lot of them.

Then we have a country with out spongers, no overcrowding, no criminals!!! If only.

Oh well back to work to pay for some scroat to stay at home on his benefits!!mad

This is what too many people fail to understand:

In the very begginning it really was dog-eat-dog. You looked after number one, and your immediate family.

Then tribes started to co-operate and soon people realised that if Dave Fire was good at making the bright orange thing to huddle round at night - that's what he should concentrate his efforts on. In return for sharing the fire, other people would pitch-in - Zog Hunter would give Dave a few of the rabbits he'd caught, Sally Boobs would... Well you get the idea, and Hey-ho, suddenly the division of labour has happened.

Point was, everyone, unless they were old or infirm, had to contribute something or they were forced out of society.
