I want to re-use and old mobile, but first restore to as new state.

Please can someone reassure me that if I use the factory reset it will not wipe the SIM contacts?

Its on a Nokia 6230.

Just being paranoid, not usually a tech gimp.

Many thanks
H

Provided the contacts are actually stored on the SIM and not in the phone memory then you'll be fine.

Take the sim out of the phone and re-set it.

google is you friend.

try this:

Full Reset: (clears everything off the phone memory!! Be sure to back up your contacts!!): *#7370#, 12345 and then Yes.

Soft Reset: *#7780#, 12345 and then Yes. (Also works on Nokia S40 phones, NOTE: On the 6230/6230b, same as going to the Factory Reset option under Settings!!

PH massive comes through as normal.

BTW: Did google, but SIM vulnerability was not explicit.

Thanks all.
