Parking and/or B&B in Cardiff

For some reason, the OH really wants to go to Cardiff, so want to take her there on Saturday, either for the day, or stay over the Saturday night.
Can anyone either recommend parking at a decent price, but where my car is safe (or safe as it can be), or a B&B that isn't ridiculously priced that I may be able to book?
I know this is a bit of an odd one, but the PH lot normally help me out with stuff.

If you want B&B there was a place called the Town house on Cathedral Rd, 10 min walk from the city centre, 15 mins from the fantastic civic buildings. The Town House was in the good B&B guide and will also have parking (not stayed in it for 7 years)
There are quite a few B&Bs down Cathedral rd, some must be OK. You have the usual good hotels that will have parking but will charge accordingly. Cardiff is a great city and worth a weekend.

I see there are a lot of B&Bs down that same road you mentioned, which would cause me some concern, as most people would then know where to go, perhaps... For my car!
Most of them are around £60-70 a night. I'd ideally like something cheaper, but perhaps that isn't going to happen, with secure parking.

Thats on Mary Street. Narrow enterence which after a hallway opens out in the back.loads more too.
Does she have piercings in her face /many?
I'm edging towards just the day now, as we may have a PH South West drive on the Sunday, and don't want to have to rush back for it.

Failing that, it mentions park and ride for £3 per car. Any experience of these 2 park and rides? (Eurgh, bus..)

try the Marriott inn.. there's a secure car park attached to it that's owned by the Marriott which is in the centre of town
or you could at least leave your car in the Marriott and walk across the road to the travel dodge on st mary st (right opposite the Hard Rock Cafe)
or you could try the future inn down the bay. its a short taxi ride from the city centre. parking is not secure there, but there are plenty of spaces with big bays. but its safe to park there.. there are cameras everywhere there.
the Hilton has valet parking in a secure lockup down the road and you can drive it there yourself if you insist. yet again right in the city centre.

You're either going to have to go very cheap or very expensive this late in the day I'm afraid. Pays your money and takes your choice!
Where do you live though? Could you get the last train home from Cardiff Central? They run pretty late - last one to my place is 11.10pm or thereabouts - and that train goes on to Bristol or even Taunton as far as I'm aware.
