Suffolk. Tomorrow.

The downside is, I can't afford to pay a huge amount on a dedicated vehicle. Our glass company can only get it there Monday earliest. They NEED it there tomorrow! If it was local, I'd pick it up in my Astra & take it there myself but from Worthing, Sussex to Liverpool then down to Suffolk = a very long day. Plus it would involve me taking a day off & losing a days wages @ 2 jobs.

Any suggestions? Last quote we had was £350 quid, I'm gonna ask a few courier pals I have but open to other options chaps & chapette's

Thanks.

Any reason why Royal Mail Special Delivery can't do it? Is it too big?

Post it today and it will be there tomorrow.

Sounds like you're looking for afavour from the PH community?

As for £350, have you seen the price of fuel lately and the MPG of a decent V8?

Elaborate a bit on the item - it is plate glass or a glass item and how big/fragile is it?

We used http://www.prestoncouriers.co.uk/index.php yesterday to get a parcel from Southport to the centre of London- same day. They charged £207 and were very helpful.

Hope this helps.

Well, I'm gonna fit the bill out of my own pocket so I need it to be reasonable. It's a 250 mile trip...@ my courier friends rate it works out about £300. I know he can trim that down for me when I speak to him later but If I can do it cheaper then that'd be great.

Regarding Royal Mail, don't trust them with something as fragile as glass + no real certainty it will get there when I need it to.

That Preston couroer bunch must be cheap. Last time I had something expressed that sort of distance (okay it was heavy, a gearbox) it was over £300!

Thanks for that, very friendly chap. I'll keep them in mind for future for sure. Unfortunately they're looking at £300 inc VAT too.

If you don't mind me asking, what are you looking to pay?

Interested as I thought that £300+ I paid last year was steep, but I thought that was the going rate and I was just tight!

If it fits in the back of Fiesta, I can get it there Friday evening for £50 and petrol money (its a 1.2 so gets decent mpg)

It MAY fit, you'd have to check. if so, I'd be really tempted to go with you on this.
