We're addicted to quality boxed sets me and my Gumar hehe.

So far have done...

West Wing
Sopranos
Rome
World at War

I'm hearing great things about 'The Wire'

Any further thoughts from you all Matey-PHeeps?

The wire is good.

You could go for comedy, American Dad and Family Guy, My name is Earl.

If not, 24, Dexter, lost i suppose.

Thanks.

Tried to get into 24 but found it a bit samey and the acting largely mince.

Trying to find something with a bit of depth and not toooo Americanised.

Edited to add...

Also watched..

Prison Break
The Shield

Dexter is excellent, as are Firefly, The Equalizer, X-Files, Oz, Jericho, Sharpe, Hornblower...

We watch virtually all of our TV on boxed sets now.

I would second Lost and Dexter and also recommend House.

Band of Brothers.

No question - different subject matter obviously, but still HBO. Purveryors of the finest TV known to man at the moment.

I'm not normally a fan of Japanese animated stuff but I just watched all of 'Deathnote' and it was excellent.

Thanks all!

Anyone got series 1-3 of The Wire? I'm seeing it on Amazon for £15 per series or I could avail of your dust gathering copy instead?!?

Its not drama but entourage is the bomb...best tv series. Think there was a thread on it a while back.

Aside from that heard good things about The Wire, The Shield and Californication

The Wire.

Takes a little while to get going, and you need to concentrate*. Stuff that you don't realise is relevant will pop up again a few episodes later, and it all fits together.

*Unless of course you're Mrs Dibble... "Just pause it a minute. Who's that? I've not seen him before. Why is he doing that? Where did they go?..."
