7m 55 into the video on that page.

On 60 Minutes, in an interview with Scott Pelley, reporter Bob Woodward claimed that the U.S. military has a new secret technique that's so revolutionary, it's on par with the tank and the airplane:

cnbc said:
Woodward: This is very sensitive and very top secret, but there are secret operational capabilities that have been developed by the military to locate, target, and kill, leaders of al Qaeda in Iraq, insurgent leaders, renegade militia leaders, that is one of the true breakthroughs.

Pelley: What are we talking about here? Some kind of surveillance, some kind of targeted way of taking out just the people that you're looking for, the leadership of the enemy?

[...]

Woodward: It is the stuff of which military novels are written.

Pelley: Do you mean to say that this special capability is such an advance in military technique and technology that it reminds you of the advent of the tank and the airplane?

Woodward: Yeah. If you were an Al Qaeda leader, or part of the insurgency of Iraq, or military leaders and you knew what they could do, you would get your ass out of town.
So complete speculation? What do we think this new technology is ?

(Or is he just talking rubbish, and trying to talk up the US military force? smile (probably!))

I bet, at some point, it involves utilising DONKEYS!

"Synopsis
Why are Iraqi prisoners of war being forced to listen to Barney the Purple Dinosaur's theme tune repeatedly, at top volume? Why have 100 de-bleated goats been secretly placed inside the Special Forces command centre at Fort Bragg, North Carolina? Has the US army really enlisted the help of Uri Geller? In "The Men Who Stare at Goats", Jon Ronson searches for answers to these and many other questions, revealing some of the extraordinary beliefs at the core of the War on Terror. "

Very interesting book. Basically the US military actually belives in jedi like powers and has spent years developing them using various nutjobs....and failing, oh so surprisingly.

Maybe finally found the Chosen One they have ?

So far, they have just been pursuing them and shooting them up or bombing them in the old-fashioned way.
So when are they going to start using this amazing new technology???

It's an M16 with no trigger group.

This was found to be the only effective way prevents Americans from causing 'blue on blue' shootings.

Who knows, I would think the US has some pretty amazing tech in the warfare department in development right now considering amazing technology such as the SR-71 Blackbird were designed over half a century ago, so one can only imagine what the hell are they designing now!

Technology such as this perhaps is what the article could be referring to:

Real life star wars!, not sure its revolutionary however.

Technologies that emerge usually began 20 years before. However, once in a while, something is stumbled upon and brought to bear far more quickly. Hard to say.

Obviously, this is a matter of national security so I'm going to tell everyone about it.

I smell a goat. Me thinks they are running out of ideas and bluffing.

Probably trained skydiving kamakazi porcines.

Jump out of planes and aim for the face of insurgents, thus not only killing them but ensuring that their last meal is pork, therefore removing the ability for them to go to paradise as martyrs....

Hypersonic flight is known of so who knows what manned and/or unmanned SR71 replacements they have. We'll find out in several years once they're decommissioned! So what's the stuff they are working on now like? There has been talk for a long time about weapons in space that can locate, track and deploy surface to air, surface to surface missiles etc. Also imagine a satellites that can fire a high powered lasers. EMP bombs, invisible beams that can incapacitate you instantly. These can be non lethal or lethal. Guns that can fire thousands of rounds per second (kind of), adaptive camouflage, there is all kinds of strange military designed technology out there.
