I ordered a book this afternoon at about 4pm and I got an email from them at about 5pm to say that it was dispatched at 11:49 this morning! Pretty damned impressive! I think they have some sort of psychic ability!

Dunno - but it's Royal Mail and it will be delivered tomorrow, so it's obviously not from some place in abroadness!

Just wait 'til they cock one of your orders right up the proverbial.

You will be a lot less impressed.

They have a big distribution centre in Ridgemont, Beds, so probably from there, always found them very efficient
I ordered some stuff last week... still waiting for it,
I managed to click 'dispatch in as few packages as possible' and one of the items is not out til mid october, so I have to wait a while, user error of course wink

Whenever I get stuff from Amazon I get about 3 or 4 emails asking me to 'rate my transaction' which I have no desire to do.

Those are from other sellers. It's trying to be like eBay feedback (remember them?) but harder to do.

Living in Italy, I use Amazon.uk a lot for books, DVDs, games and CD's - It never takes any longer than three days to arrive, apart from one time when I ordered a lot of stuff and it was sent using Deutsche Post -it didn't turn up at all. I contacted Amazon about this, and they asked me to wait a few more days, in case there were genuine delays. The time went by and the parcel never arrived. They re sent the whole order via another courier and I recieved it within three days, no hassle, no fuss. From my experience, they have E-Commerce shopping set up perfectly.

They 'dispatch' quickly... but then take quite a few days to arrive!

Amazon seem to be increasingly farming out their work to 'preferred sellers' these days, meaning more variation in quality. The stuff that comes from Jersey is quick

It arrived at 9:30 this morning. And this was the cheaper delivery option!
