Things they should invent

I am not talking mind-probes and hovering skatebaord but things I would find useful and which I know they could do.

I would like a spray air freshener that smells of wet paint which I can squirt for unexpected visistors and then say "Excuse the mess, we are decorating"

Any more simple ideas?

How about the suggestion of leaving a tin of paint and a brush by the front door so you can slap a bit of emulsion on the doorframe before you answer it
