How will Students be effected
Discussion
You know those flat screens you were going to buy on your student barclaycard?
Not any more.
You know those massive multiple mortgages available to graduates only?
Not any more.
You know those jobs you were working towards?
Not any more. Well more in the sense that there will be a whole load of people who have all the qualifications you will have but also expreiance who are willing to do it for the same money you will as they are fed up of Tesco Value beans on the JSA.
For a start.
Not any more.

He's a PH Workie? Whats one of those. Work Experience?
I'd say YTS given his command of English. You have to hang your head when journalists don't know the dfference between 'effect' and 'affect'. Maybe you don't need a qualification in our national language to be a hack anymore?Edited by V8mate on Thursday 18th September 15:16

Student overdrafts won't be as generous and possibly nor will the student loan scheme.
Rent is likely to increase, there will be fewer student jobs available and the cost of going through university may be more.
Also when you come out at the other end there may be fewer jobs available so would increase competition and keep wages down. A good example is there are so many people studying law they only need to pay LPC graduates the law society minimum of around £15k and people are jumping at the chance - bear in mind these are well educated people.
Hope this helps - all common sense really!
It seems that this year there are fewer Training Contract places on offer, and I don't think its going to get much better in the comming years. Rent is likely to increase, there will be fewer student jobs available and the cost of going through university may be more.

I was happy to get LSoc min at a decent firm in 2000 and that was £12k then.Rent is likely to increase, there will be fewer student jobs available and the cost of going through university may be more.

I doubt that Student Loans will be affected much (or at least the government backed ones).
