On the end of the tusk of the wall mounted elephant head I have. It's a bit precarious but it's alright, if they come off they tusk they simply fall into his foot.

It depends- if I've put any umbrellas in his foot sometimes the keys bounce off and fall behind the stuffed panda cub I use to wipe my boots on, but in the summer usually just straight in the foot.
