Claiming income tax back from gordon.
Discussion
Hi all, i figured asking on the biggest forum i know would help me with that and save major hassle down the line.
Basically, during the last tax year, i spent quite a bit of time out of the country, and so was unemployed, then broke both both my arms, so was on stat sick pay for a few months, i had 3 job and did some agency work. And paid emergency tax for a little while because my old boss (who i dont see eye to eye with) wouldn't get the my p45 for aaaaaaaages. And cleverley i didn't keep on top of keeping my bank statements, i didn't recieve payslips from one job (i know, daft again).
So basically, my tax is all over the shop. And i'm 99% i paid too much tax. If i ring my local tax office, will they be able to sort it out, or will i have to try get new payslips/ copys of p45's etc?
Thanks
Nick

you should have a p60 from your last employer. Other than that if you were allways paid via PAYE the tax office will have your cumulative income and should have a new code calculated for the current year taking into account any previous overpayments. Just contact your tax office they do talk.
