Just had some building work done & the Sky dish got moved ever so slightly (2 inches).

The TV now says that it can't pick up a satelite signal.

How easy is it to re-allign the dish to pick up the signal again?

I don't think you can do it by hand without any specialist tools. I've only seen a dish fitted once but the engineer used some sort of handheld device to find the right direction. Keep your eye out for a sky van parked up in your area and offer the guy a tenner to sort it.

It can be done using the signal meter in the box's "engineer" menu, but it's a little fiddly because of update lag.

Piece of piss. I installed mine according to the box's own signal meter. Works fine.

I had an extension built last year, and I had to move the satellite dish and aerial from one side of the house to the other.

Did the job myself, and aligned the dish using one of these.

Once I had mounted the dish bracket onto the wall, using the meter it took approximately thirty seconds to align it, and it worked first time.

If you dish has been knocked in the horizontal plane, then I suspect it will be just as easy to re-align it using a meter. If it has been knowced in the vertical plane (elevation) then it may be slightly trickier.
