I'm taking the wife to Venice and have booked the overnight train from Paris, but had differing reports about onboard food.
Anybody know if it is BR sarnies or Orient Express a la carte?

Are you travelling with an Artesia TGV?
If so they have alright food. NOt sure if it's still the case but we had to change at Milan.

Thanks, I assume it's the TGV, I thought it went straight to venice (would Milan be after venice?)

No, Milan is in the NW of Italy, Venice is in the NE. Can't tell you anything about the train and/or any stops, but that's the geography of the area for you. (Interestingly, driving a zafira from Milan to Venice and back in a day in the middle of summer is a right ballache.)
