Poznan hotels

I'm going to Poznan for a few days in mid november, has anybody been and if so can you recommend any hotels in/close to the city centre?

The Sheraton is looking the most likely currently but i'm just wondering if anybody has any other views.

I've been to Poznan. Nice city (in parts) - the old centre is attractive if a bit touristish - some good bars in the area.

Food was awful

Can't suggest a hotel - I stayed at the Polish Supercomputer Centre

I'm hoping to stay in the old town as i've heard the bars are quite good there as you say.

I went a year or so ago, nice place (I was on a service call), lovely people.

Poland has changed so much since the iron curtain fell, still all the "flats" but its so clean and bright now, you can't imagine why they keep wanting to come over here.

The customer arranged my hotel, and I can't remember its bloody name.........just another foriegn hotel, but I hope you enjoy your trip.

As i say the Sheraton looks favourite at the moment, the price is reasonable and although it's a little bit out of the old area of the city the location seems quite good.

Also I will be using taxi's to get about, I imagine they are reasonably cheap in Poland, can anybody confirm this?
